"Yesterday and Today, the Victorian Way...What's
Under YOUR Dress?"
offers the participating
audience an opportunity to compare
undergarments throughout history. From fig leaf
to thong, women's underwear has lived a life of its
own, linking to fascinating and humorous
historic events. There is no doubt that the
Victorians are truly responsible for the advent of
many of today's pieces of lingerie and underwear
in a modern woman's life. Cosmetics and beauty
tips have been on women's lips since way before
the Eyptians. See it first hand! Learn and laugh!

Accompanying this program is an exhibit of
lingerie and undergarments from throughout
history. Do you remember the girdles your mother
and grandmother wore? It's all tied
together...under somebody's dress!

"Treasures from My Trunk...Let's Travel" takes the
audience on a trip with trunks and satchels,
ready packed and ready to go! What would you
pack in your suitcase today if you were going on a
trip? What would Sarah Downly pack for her
train ride trip in 1885? Audience members get to
unpack and learn...there's no such thing as
packing lightly as a Victorian. Come and take a
peak for yourself!

(This program addresses travel in the 1800's
including transportation methods, hardships,
and traveler expectations....so different from
today. Programs can be adapted for audience age
appropriateness.)
